Interesting Arabian History...

Some of the greatest Arabian horses in the world lived just 20 minutes away from the Plum Tree at a place called Ventura Farms.
Back in the day, the main barn was filled with legendary mares that shaped and influenced the breed in a way so profoundly, I wonder if it will ever be replicated.
Gorgeous daughters of Bask++, *Comet, *Negatiw, and other Pure Polish legends graced the stalls. It was a time where auctions were exciting and brought celebration. Record breaking prices and each horse was more beautiful than the last.
It was a time when halter horses could be ridden and performed under saddle and mares were the most sought after. Dam lines were recognized by a single letter and I often wonder if there will ever be a large selection of great mares in one farm in this country. I feel blessed to have known some of those great mares on a personal level and to have them as my friends and trail horses for a few years....I hope the kids grow up and remember all the great mares that are a part of lives today.
